(founder and yoga acharya)
Swami Sivamurti Saraswati was born and raised in Australia. In 1975 she traveled to India. In 1976 her guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, initiated her into poorna sannyasa and commissioned her to spread the teachings of yoga in Greece.
In 1978 she founded Satyanandashram Hellas which, since its conception at Kalamata, has spread throughout Greece. Today, there are yoga centres and teachers in most of the major cities. In 1984 she established an ashram at Paiania which was inaugurated the following year by Swami Satyananda.
Swami Sivamurti is a member of the International Yoga Fellowship Movement and, in 1993, she was recognized by the IYFM as a yoga acharya.
In 2004 she was appointed an official emissary of Satyananda Yoga by the Bihar School of Yoga.
She is a member of the Education Council of Bihar Yoga Bharati, India (Institute of Advanced Studies in Yogic Sciences) as well as a guardian of the Satyananda Yoga Academy Europe and a member of its Governing Body.
In Greece, Swami Sivamurti is responsible for instituting the projects of Satyananda Math (SM), the Karma Jignasu Sannyasa Body (SJSB), and the Hellenic Satyananda Yoga Teachers Network (HSYTN). Each year she visits her guru in India and spends some time at Rikhiapeeth and the Bihar Yoga Bharati. Swami Sivamurti is based at the Paiania ashram and travels regularly throughout Greece and other parts of the world, giving seminars and lecturing on yoga.

Swami Aparokshananada Swami Aparokshananda Saraswati
Swami Aparokshananda Saraswati graduated in economics and political sciences from the University of Law in Athens and has been working in areas of agriculture and economics.
He has been practicing Yoga since 1978, was trained by Swami Sivamurti and completed his teacher training in 1982. He trains and assesses Satyananda Yoga teachers.
His specialty areas are kriya yoga, karma yoga, yogic nutrition and yoga ecology.
Swami Shambhujyoti Swami Shambhujyoti Saraswati
Swami Shambhujyoti Saraswati worked as a beautician for many years before coming to the ashram. She has been practicing yoga since 1985. She was trained by Swami Sivamurti and completed her teacher training in 1990. She trains and assesses Satyananda Yoga teachers and specializes in stress management, Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation practice) and Shat Karmas (inner cleansing techniques).
Swami Kevalyananda Saraswati
Swami Kevalyananda Saraswati graduated in English from the University of Paris. She later worked as an English and French teacher in private schools. She has been practicing yoga since 1982 and completed her teacher training in 1994. She specializes in yoga for the elderly, relaxation techniques and back care.
Swami Savikalpa Swami Savikalpa Saraswati
Swami Savikalpa Saraswati graduated as a nurse and midwife from Beograd Medical School and studied music at the Dr Vojislav Vučković School of Music, Belgrade.
She has been practising yoga since 1987, was trained by Swami Sivamurti and completed her teacher training in 1989. She specialises in Nada Yoga and Mantra Yoga (application of sound and music).
Poornananda Sannyasin Poornananda
Sannyasi Poornananda graduated from the Surveying Engineering School of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and later studied at the Ohio State University in the USA. She has been practicing Yoga since 1981. She was trained by Swami Sivamurti and in 1982 she completed her teacher training. She trains and assesses new Satyananda Yoga teachers and specializes in Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, meditation techniques and Tattwa Shuddi.

Teachers of Satyanandashram Hellas give seminars and classes in many places outside the ashram in Greece and abroad, for example Bulgaria, Serbia, Cyprus, Greek islands, the independent Satyananda Yoga centers of Greece and the main centers in Thessaloniki and Athens.
