Residential options

Apart from taking part in a particular program you are welcome to come to the ashram for one of the following options:

1. Personal retreats
Take time out from your usual busy life and spend some days or weeks in the natural revitalising environment of the ashram. Recharge your batteries and regain a sense of personal harmony. You can participate in minimal ashram activities and decide your own daily schedule.

2. Ashram Life and yogic lifestyle
Immerse yourself fully in ashram life and learn to add a yogic attitude to daily activities. The focus is on awareness, self discipline and the ability to work with others as a group. The program is dynamic and combines yoga practice, skills development, creative projects and outdoor activities. It is ideal for those wanting to work on themselves, purify the mind, open the heart and refine the ego. It is a great opportunity to live in close contact with the teachings of the masters. This program is suitable for students of all levels.

3. Sannyasa lifestyle
Learn how to integrate the ideals of sannyasa into your personality: Purity, simple living, faith in a higher consciousness/ purpose, self-observation, regularity in one’s practices, and a passion for helping others. Find out how a yogic lifestyle can help you achieve these ideals of sannyasa. Discover a new purpose in life. Learn how to free yourself through living with both spontaneity and self-discipline. Discover the tools for finding happiness and managing all situations in life with equanimity, right understanding and dispassion as outlined in the ancient scriptures. This option includes full participation in ashram activities and requires a willingness to learn, be challenged and transcend one’s own limited ego.

4. Seva/ volunteer options

Spend a weekend involved in the ashram routine and be a volunteer. The weekends are by donation if participated in fully. Karma yoga time is a minimum of 6 hours per day. Donations go to Satyananda Math to help those in need.
